About Blue Pearl
Fair income for farmers. Full value from every nut.
Founded in 2019 by Eunice Njeri, Nelson Wambugu and Anthony Kiiru, Blue Pearl Agroventures works with five farmer cooperatives representing around 5,000 smallholder members in central Kenya.
Our story
Three failures we set out to fix
Farmers were losing income to brokers, distressed-price sales and processors who rejected smaller nuts outright.
Value was leaving the country. Most Kenyan macadamia was exported raw instead of being processed locally.
Processing waste had no market. Shells were discarded or burned informally — a lost opportunity and an environmental cost.
We started by building direct working relationships with smallholder macadamia farmers in central Kenya, then launched our own value-added product line. Today we work with five farmer cooperatives representing around 5,000 smallholder members.
To deliver fair, reliable income to smallholder macadamia farmers and build sustainable value — from farm to export, shells to soil — through aggregation, value addition and circular innovation.
Transforming communities through rural income, job creation and value addition.

Our goal is to become a profitable African agro-processing company generating KES 100M+ in annual revenue by 2029, and a Series A-ready climate business.
What we're proudest of along the way: the change in rural households' incomes that comes from working directly with smallholder macadamia farmers.
